Thrifted Thursday

hey lovely people,
today i thought i'd share with you one of my favourite pass times; charity shopping. I have experienced many people who find this fascination of mine slightly odd, but hey, if it's a bargain, i'm all for it.

granted, you will experience days where the charity shops are saturated with strange smelling granny T's and pieces of hello kitty merchandise. this alone is off putting for the less determined shoppers. however, ignoring the 2006 throwbacks and putting aside the bobbled fleeces, diamonds WILL be discovered among the rough.

a year or so ago i saw this dress in the cancer research window and practically tore it from the mannequin before anyone else could so much as look at it. i had no idea when i would wear it, and i still haven't, but it is sat patiently waiting for the invitations to cannes to come flooding in (i'm sure it won't be long now)

dress - cancer research - £6
necklace - vintage
shoes - new look - £25

the moral of the story? charity shopping is not sad. it's not for middle aged women and it's not hopeless. have a little persistence and keep your eyes peeled, and your wardrobe will be packed full of great pieces for a fraction of the cost.

Stay Classy

i felt like doing something a little bit different for you guys today and this was the result: classy, elegant, and verging on old school st trinians.. but i think i love it.

this is a collaboration of mine, my best friend, and my best friend's mum's wardrobes. i love the classic shapes of the skirt, jacket and shirt, but we injected some modern spice with the majorly short underskirt and sky high wedges.

earrings, necklace and handbag - all vintage
shirt - Marks & Spencer - £25
jacket - £180 (my friend's mum's)
skirt - charity shop - £3
shoes - Amazon - £12
watch - marc jacobs - £250

Nineties Neon

say goodbye to your skinnies my friends, because boyfriend jeans are back.

i've been patiently waiting for these babies to appear on the highstreet once again and, as predicted, they have arrived with a bang. trust me people, get your hands on a pair of these and you'll be the hottest shit for summer.

thought i'd go all out and send this outfit spiralling back into the 90's with some serious neon, some vintage fur and - of course - a pair of hoops that a small child could squeeze through. the nineties cannot be done by halves... the bigger, the better.

fur jacket - vintage - £20
tshirt - Topshop - £10
jeans - Topshop - £40
shoes - New Look - £24
earrings - Primark - £2
watch - Marc Jacobs - £250
purse - (fake) Mulberry - £12
